Over 50 people were in attendance Tuesday afternoon, March 4, 2008, for an auction of 1,082 acres of CRP land located in Hartley County, Texas. A second auction was held Wednesday morning, March 5, 2008. There were over 80 people in attendance of which 54 were bidders. At both auctions, the tracts were bid on individually and in combination depending on the individual bidder’s interests. The close of bidding on Tuesday saw 2 successful bidders spend $599,040 or approximately $553.64 per acre.
